Purple sells on colour. It makes a violet-tinged gel that stands out on a shelf of pale jars, which is why retail gel lines reach for it and why it carries a premium in most markets.
Worth being straight with your own customers about what the colour is: pigment that follows where and how deep the moss grew. On the current evidence it is not a difference in what the moss does for anyone. Sell it on how it looks, not on a claim.

How much to order
There are no fixed pack sizes — tell us the pounds you want and we quote that. The bands below are only there to show where most buyers land, and what each volume turns into. The trade works on roughly 12 to 15 sixteen-ounce jars of gel per dried pound; treat it as a rule of thumb, not a specification, because your yield moves with soak time, water ratio and how thick you run the gel.
| Volume | Who lands here | Roughly makes |
|---|---|---|
| 1 lb | Sampling and recipe testing | 12 – 15 jars |
| 10 – 25 lb | Small gel producers and market stalls | 120 – 375 jars |
| 25 – 50 lb | An established line with steady turnover | 300 – 750 jars |
| 50 – 100 lb | Multi-SKU producers and small distributors | 600 – 1,500 jars |
| 100 lb + | Distributors and contract manufacturers, palletised | 1,200 + jars |
How it reaches you

Cut by hand from open water around the island, rinsed, then laid out and turned until it is dry and brittle. Sun drying is slower than a mechanical dryer and is what keeps the strand structure and the colour intact.

Sand, grit and the salt crust that forms during drying come out in two passes. That is the step that separates usable trade moss from moss you will spend hours rinsing yourself.
Documentation
A Certificate of Analysis is available on request against the specific batch you are buying — tick the box on the form. If you are importing, put the destination country in and we will confirm which export and import documents your shipment needs, and which of them we supply, before you commit to anything.

Frequently asked questions
How much do I have to order?
There is no fixed minimum. Sampling starts at a single pound and volumes run up to full pallets — put the number you actually want in the quote form and we will price that.
Why is there no price on this page?
Because a real wholesale price depends on variety, volume, destination and how often you reorder, and one number on a web page would be wrong for almost everybody. The form takes those four details and you get a price that applies to your order.
Can I get a sample first?
Yes, and we would recommend it. Ask for a pound in the form, run it through your own process, count the jars, then come back for volume once you know it works for you.
Do you supply a Certificate of Analysis?
Yes, matched to the batch you are buying. Tick the documentation box on the form and it comes back with the quote. We do not publish generic certificates, because one that is not tied to your lot tells you nothing about your sack.
Is it wildcrafted or pool-grown?
Wildcrafted. It grows on natural substrate in the open sea off Saint Lucia and is cut by hand. We do not grow in pools or tanks, and we do not bleach.
Can I repackage it under my own brand?
Yes. Most of our volume is bought to be cleaned, gelled, dried or encapsulated and sold on under the buyer’s own label.
